Photo Challenge; favourite smell.

Right now it's this candle. Mandarin Orange.

Blog Challenge; day thirteen.

What's the most interesting vacation you have been on?

Good question. Cause I never go anywhere.

I've been to Alberta twice. Quebec once. The States a couple times but mostly just along the river in a boat.

Most interesting vacation.

I suppose that would be Quebec. I was in Scouts and it was the Canadian Jamboree.

While in the water I got hit in the back of the head by a board (those little flutter board type things) and had to be escorted out of the water on a stretcher. In front of everybody.

Yep.

Photo Challenge; love.

I got a bubble machine today. I love bubbles.

Blog Challenge; day twelve.

Perfect anniversary - describe it.

Hell, I don't know.

I'm assuming we mean wedding anniversary. In which case it would depend on the husband and our relationship. Dinner is boring.

If it was a friendship anniversary, same thing. It would depend on the friend and our relationship.

I like amusement parks though. For every occasion.

Photo Challenge, red, white or blue.

I forgot to look for a picture while out today, so you get this thing in my son's room.

Blog Challenge; day eleven.

Describe your wedding.

Honestly, I have no idea if I'll get married or not. If you'd asked me a few years ago my answer would have been "where's my shoes" but now? I dunno. Right now even being in a relationship seems like a big deal for me.

But, I suppose that's not the question, is it.

I'd like a nice white dress. No lace or ruffles. Maybe satin. Off the shoulders or sleeveless. Fitted to my hips. Some kind of embellishment but nothing ugly. No train. A short veil. Half up-do.

Ideally I'd like a beach wedding. Or one in a vineyard. Late April to early June. Short ceremony. Buffet style dinner. Some kind of "wow" factor during the reception. Candy bar, chocolate fountain with fruit, silly photo booth, something. No kids at the reception, even my own.

That's kind of my template.

Words of caution.

If you give blood earlier in the day, don't take a 20+ minute walk to the park, spend 3 hours there, and then a 20+ minute walk back. Especially when you got minimal sleep the night before..

Because you walked for over an hour to and from fireworks and got into bed at 1 AM..

And it's a hot day out.

You will not feel well at the end of the day.

The park was fun though. Bub went on the swing for the first time and he loved it. At first he was not having it but after a few back and forths he definitely liked the swing.

And he loved the splash park. When on his feet he would bounce around and laugh at the water.

Princess had lots of fun too. There's a small animal park and she got to feed some goats and other animals. We all got to see a daddy peacock protecting his young from some fearsome sheep.

Overall, fun day, even if I still feel like crap!

Photo Challenge; cold.

Nothing colder than something that says CHILL on it in big letters.

Funny though because it's a raspberry lemonade and not an iced capp.

Photo Challenge; shoes.

My son's cute, tiny little gecko sandals. My daughter's super fab peep-toe flats. My beat up bow tie flats.

Photo Challenge; happiness is..

Happiness is my two love bugs. Couldn't imagine life without them.

Blog Challenge; day ten.

If you found a $100 what would you do?

It would depend on my need that day.

If I needed groceries, I'd buy some. If it was super hot, I'd treat us to supper. If we needed something for the house, I'd get that.

You get the idea.

Shortest answer ever.

Blog Challenge; day nine.

Do you prefer to take baths or showers?

Showers.

I really dislike baths. You sit there, doing nothing, sitting in the dirt you're supposedly washing off your body.

Gross.

They're relaxing, you say?

So is napping, or watching a movie, or reading a book, or knitting, or baking, or shopping, or yoga. None of which you can do while taking a bath.

Well, maybe reading a book, but you get the idea.

Blog Challenge; day eight.

If you had a choice - SAHM?

If I could choose, I would be a SAHM every day of my kid's young lives.

If I hadn't gotten pregnant with my son I would be working right now, or in school so I could work soon. Princess is 6 and in school full time now so it's not a big deal for me to work. But now that I have Bub I'll probably be putting that on hold for a bit so I can stay home with him.

I don't think anyone should raise a baby except their mother, and father if that's the situation. Obviously this isn't always an option, but for me I'm lucky enough to be able to stay home with my babies and watch them grow.

I want to be a police officer so I do have goals, for the people that think I'm just lazy, haha.

In conclusion, in a couple years I'll start to really buckle down and Git R Dun but for now I'm going to just take it easy and raise my baby.

Blog Challenge; day seven.

You're in labour: drugs or no drugs. Why?

If I were to go into spontaneous labour right this second, I would actually try to go without drugs.

With my daughter, being 17 and all, I was totally opting for drugs as soon as I could get them. I ended up having to have a C-Section so it turned out to be a non-issue anyway.

After that I had decided any future kids would be born via C-Section. I didn't want to go through labour or experience it at all. Truth be told, it scared the shit out of me.

Toward the end of my son's pregnancy I changed my mind. I thought that if millions of women before me could do it, then so could I. I wanted a natural labour as far as I could get one.

Unfortunately I started developing signs of pre-eclampsia* at 35 weeks so I opted to have another C-Section. I'm really sad I missed out on the natural birth experience, but I have two healthy, super awesome kids, so I don't have much to complain about.

*Wiki's definition of pre-e: Pre-eclampsia or preeclampsia is a medical condition characterized by high blood pressure and significant amounts of protein in the urine of a pregnant woman. If left untreated, it can develop into eclampsia, the life-threatening occurrence of seizures during pregnancy.

There are many different causes for the condition. It appears likely that there are substances from the placenta that can cause endothelial dysfunction in the maternal blood vessels of susceptible women.[1] While blood pressure elevation is the most visible sign of the disease, it involves generalised damage to the maternal endothelium, kidneys, and liver, with the release of vasoconstrictive factors being a consequence of the original damage.

An outdated medical term for pre-eclampsia is toxemia of pregnancy, since it was thought that the condition was caused by toxins[2].

Pre-eclampsia may develop from 20 weeks' gestation (it is considered early onset before 32 weeks, which is associated with an increased morbidity). Its progress differs among patients; most cases are diagnosed before labor typically would begin. Pre-eclampsia may also occur up to six weeks after delivery. Apart from Caesarean section and induction of labor (and therefore delivery of the placenta), there is no known cure. It is the most common of the dangerous pregnancy complications; it may affect both the mother and fetus.[1]

Blog Challenge; day six.

Names you picked out for your kids when you were younger. Bonus: share any name ideas you have now.

Actually I had never really thought about future kid names when I was younger. I never really imagined myself with kids at all until I was pregnant.

If I hadn't of gotten pregnant at 17 I don't think I would have wanted any for a long while, if at all. Teen pregnancy kind of shoved me into that ideal quick.

So since I can't answer that question very well, I'll tell you how I picked my kid's names.

For Princess I looked through a baby name book. I picked 10 boy and 10 girl names and then matched up a first and middle from those lists. If she'd been a boy her name would have been Liam Mitchell. Her dad had a small say but we broke up during the pregnancy so I could have named her whatever I wanted. I did, in a way I suppose.

For Bub it was a little more complicated. His dad had very specific ideas about what name he wanted, which I didn't like at all. We went through a lot of compromising before figuring that I would pick the boy's first name and he the middle (or middles, in his case). And then he would pick the girl's first and I would pick the middle(s).

His idol is Bob Marley, so he picked Marley as the girl's first name. I don't particularly like it so I'm really kind of glad Bub is a boy. I had picked Lia Scarlett as middle names to go with Marley.

He wanted two family names for the boy's middle. I don't like either of them but that's what compromising is all about, right? So I picked two first names I loved and told him to pick from those. I wanted Clayton, because I love the name Clay, but he ended up picking the other name. Both were from my two favourite books. By the time it came to name Bub his dad and I weren't on speaking terms so I gave him the middle name I wanted.

Bonus: I got fixed in April so I no longer have to think about any of that. Thank goodness, because the last time almost drove me insane.

Happy belated Birthday Canada!

That's right, Canada is now 146 years old.

I totally knew that and didn't have to Google it at all.

Not really.

The weekend wasn't as fun as I thought it was going to be. It was too cold for the beach so we just hung around my mom's friend's house all weekend. I got Bub a little pool and Princess this water hopscotch thing. Funner than it sounds.

We had a camp fire and made s'mores. Love. Them.

We got home yesterday to find that a few of my neighbours were going to see fireworks, so we went along. Boy, was that something. Princess was not happy that she wasn't going on the bouncy castles (which cost money and the line ups were insane). As we were waiting in line for some food Bub threw up all over my arm. It even bounced off and got Princess.

Bub wasn't scared of the fireworks like I thought he might be. Loud noises still startle him. We walked there and back so I didn't get into bed until about 1 in the morning. Luckily the kiddos let me sleep until just after 9:30.

Bub also somehow taught himself to climb up stairs. Am I ever happy I live in an apartment.
